TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
RESOLUTION NO. 2023-07
Resolution Approving Bonds for County Officers
WHEREAS the County’s officers are required to provide bonds, pursuant to Iowa Code § 64.2(1);
WHEREAS under Iowa Code § 64.8 the bonds for each of the County’s officers shall be for an amount not less than $20,000.00;
WHEREAS the amount of each officer’s bond shall be determined by the board of supervisors, pursuant to Iowa Code § 64.8;
WHEREAS the board of supervisors has determined that the bond for the Taylor County Treasurer should be in the amount of $100,000.00, and the bonds for the Taylor County Attorney, Taylor County Auditor, Taylor County Recorder, Taylor County Sheriff, and Taylor County Assessor should each be in the amount of $20,000.00;
WHEREAS the bond of the County elected officials, other than the bond for the members of the board of supervisors, shall be approved by the board of supervisors, pursuant to Iowa Code § 64.19(2).
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED that pursuant to Iowa Code § 64.2(1), 64.8 and 64.19(2) the Board hereby approves bonds in the amount of $20,000.00 for each of the following County Officers: Taylor County Attorney, Taylor County Auditor, Taylor County Recorder, Taylor County Sheriff, and Taylor County Assessor.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Iowa Code § 64.2(1), 64.8 and 64.19(2) the Board hereby approves bond in the amount of $100,000.00 for the Taylor County Treasurer.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that these bonds shall be obtained from Ewart Insurance. Dated this 5th day of January, 2023.
