Supervisor Wilmarth called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
The Board stood and said the pledge of allegiance.
Roll call Supervisors: Horton, Fitzgerald, and Wilmarth and Auditor Bethany Murphy. Also, present Kim Watson and Justin Savage.
Horton made a motion seconded by Fitzgerald to approve the agenda for today’s meeting and the minutes to the last meeting. Motion carried 3-0
There were no public comments.
There were no committee reports.
Shane Bennett, Layne Thornton, Frank Houchin, Ryan Thornton joined the meeting discuss the bridges in Holt Township section 20 on Hillcrest Avenue. Bridge #27 was closed a few years ago and Bridge #21 is too narrow to be crossed with a combine. Currently they have no way to get into harvest their crops. Savage discussed the possibility of low water crossing and will just have to check the area to see what could be done.
Savage discussed the mowing of road ditches and possibly purchasing a 10’ disk mower. He will have quotes for the Board at the next meeting.
Chip Schultz joined the meeting to discuss financing options for the Elevator/Electrical project. The Board would like the debt levy left at $2.00 and discussed financing option for 7 or 10 years.
Fitzgerald made a motion seconded by Horton to approve Resolution 2023-02 setting November 8, 2022 as the date for an election on the proposition of entering into a loan agreement and issuing general obligation bonds. Motion carried 3-0.
The Board discussed setting the public hearing for changing the wind turbine ordinance. The Board set public hearing on September 1 at 9:00 a.m. at the Board of Supervisor’s Office, September 6th at Lenox Community Center at 6:00 p.m. and September 12 at New Market Community Center at 6:00 p.m.
The Board returned a phone call to Sharon Berggren with questions on the wind turbines.
The Board approved the claims to be paid.
Fitzgerald made a motion seconded by Horton to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
