July 21st 2022 Meeting Minutes

July 21, 2022

Supervisor Wilmarth called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

The Board stood and said the pledge of allegiance.

Roll call Supervisors: Horton, Fitzgerald, and Wilmarth and Auditor Bethany Murphy. Also, present Kim Watson.

Horton made a motion seconded by Fitzgerald to approve the agenda for today’s meeting and the minutes to the last meeting.  Motion carried 3-0

There were no public comments.

Horton reported on the Courthouse security meeting.

Taylor County Treasurer Dana Davis presented the Semi-Annual Report to the Board.

The Board approved the claims to be paid.

Belinda Ogle, Colleen Larimer and Mike Bowman joined the meeting.

County Attorney Clint Spurrier joined the meeting to discuss the changing the setbacks in the Wind Turbine Ordinance.  The Board would like to change the setbacks from the property line rather than the structure the way the ordinance is currently written.  Spurrier will get the changes made to set public hearing on the changing of the ordinance. 

The Board discussed the TIF in Platte Township for the new proposed Agri Vision campus just outside of Lenox.  The Board discussed many options on the length and the rebate amount to offer.  Horton made a motion seconded by Fitzgerald to propose a 15-year TIF with 12 years at 100% and 3 years at 75% and subject to negotiation at the end of the 15 years.  Motion carried 3-0.

The Board then discussed the public bidding process for the renovation of the Public Health building.

Josh Good joined to discuss an upgrade that is needed to the firewall.  Fitzgerald made a motion seconded by Horton to approve the upgrade to the new watch guard for $2,962.57. 

The Board approve the monthly payment to Secure Benefits for $8,860.99.

The Board discussed a donation to the New Market Women Who Care for the playground.  Fitzgerald made a motion seconded by Horton to approve a donation of $20,000.00 towards the playground in New Market. 

Fitzgerald made a motion seconded by Horton to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried 3-0.
