April 14th 2022 Meeting Minutes

April 14, 2022
Supervisor Wilmarth called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
The Board stood and said the pledge of allegiance
Roll call Supervisors: Horton, and Wilmarth and Auditor Bethany Murphy. Also, present Justin Savage.
Horton made a motion seconded by Wilmarth to approve the agenda for today’s meeting and the minutes to the last meeting. Motion carried 2-0
There were no public comments.
There were no committee reports.
Savage presented the proposed location of a sign for the Bedford Chamber. Horton made a motion seconded by Wilmarth to approve the location of the Bedford Chamber sign north of the driveway of Peve’s. Motion carried 2-0.
Savage presented his candidate for hire for the Guss Maintainer position. Horton made a motion seconded by Wilmarth to approve Leevi Marshall to start at Secondary Roads for the Guss Maintainer position. Moton carried 2-0.
Savage said we had maintainers underinsured and he is working with Jackie Minor to get proper coverage on them.
Fitzgerald joined the meeting at 9:57 a.m.
Sarah Guilliatt, Crystal Drake and Mike Schweitzer joined the meeting for the CBDG Grant RFP. Only one was received from Simmering-Cory. The cost to the county is $1,000.00. The rest of the funding will come off the grant. Horton made a motion seconded by Fitzgerald to hire Simmering-Cory to be the grant administrator for the CDBG Grant. Moton carried 3-0. The Board signed the code of compliance for the grant.
The Board approved the claims to be paid.
The Board reviewed the Recorders Quarterly Report.
Horton made a motion seconded by Fitzgerald to approve the new Employee Handbook to become effective May 1, 2022. Motion carried 3-0.
Horton made a motion seconded by Fitzgerald to approve Resolution 2022-20 changing the meal per diem to breakfast $15.00, $20.00 lunch, and $25.00 for supper to become effective May 1, 2022. Motion carried 3-0.
The Board took a zoom call from Mindy Aust for updates on the sprinkler and electrical project.
11:45 Paul and Nancy Dykstra joined the meeting. Paul is a candidate running for State Representative District 17. He spoke with the Board on his thought for the direction our state should be headed.
Fitzgerald made a motion seconded by Wilmarth to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
