January 20th 2022 Meeting Minutes

January 20, 2022
Supervisor Wilmarth called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
The Board stood and said the pledge of allegiance
Roll call Supervisors: Wilmarth, Fitzgerald and Horton, and Auditor Bethany Murphy. Also, present Justin Savage.
Fitzgerald made a motion seconded by Horton to approve the agenda for today’s meeting and the minutes from the prior meeting. Motion carried 3-0
There were no public comments.
Wilmarth gave a report on the RC&D meeting and the Motorola meeting she attended.
Savage presented the following list of bridges that have had weight limit changes and the bridges that are no longer in service or require posting.

Jan 20th Road Map

Taylor County has over 200 bridges in the county. Savage would like the Board to consider Tax Increment Financing a percentage of the new wind turbine project to help pay for the bridge upkeep in the county.
The Board approved an equipment disposal form Secondary Roads for the rented dozer.
Cole Walters joined the meeting to ask the Board to consider giving the Economic Development money generated by the Local Option Sales and Service Tax to the cities with economic development. The communities would like the funds divided with Bedford, Lenox, and New Market all receiving 10% for the funds. Taylor County receives $25,000.00 annually for Economic Development.
Walters also discussed the possibility of an internet project in the City of Bedford.
The Board tabled the Conservation purchases due to director illness.
The Board approved the claims to be paid.
County Recorder Rick Sheley joined the meeting to present his FY23 budget ask.
County Attorney Spurrier joined the meeting to discuss the purchase agreement with Donnie and Shannon Weed for the Purple Palace Building.
Treasurer Dana Davis presented the Semi-Annual Report that will be published in the paper. She also presented her FY23 budget ask.
Auditor Murphy presented her FY23 budget ask.
The Board tabled any decision on jail and booking fees.
Fitzgerald made a motion seconded by Horton to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
