The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in special session at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023.
Supervisor Fitzgerald called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Watson, Beggs, all present. Also present: Corey Leftwich.
Watson motioned to approve the agenda for the meeting. Beggs seconded. MC 3-0.
The Board completed the paperwork for the Canvass of Votes for the March 7, 2023 Special Election.
The Board discussed the overall budget for Taylor County. The Max Levy Notice was approved to be published in the County papers, with the Proposed Property Tax Levy Hearing being scheduled for April 3rd at 9:00 am.
Josh Good joined the meeting to receive direction from the Board on quotes to obtain to be discussed in future meetings. Good left the meeting.
Josh Weed joined the meeting to express dissatisfaction with the Board of Supervisors related to how the Sheriff’s Union negotiations were proceeding. Weed stated he should have been included in the previous closed session about Sheriff’s Union negotiations and arbitration. He requested another closed session to occur at the next meeting so he can express his concerns.
The Board reviewed topics for discussion in future meetings. Beggs motioned to adjourn the meeting. Watson seconded. MC 3-0.
