PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Supervisor Fitzgerald called the meeting to order at 9:01 a .m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Watson and Beggs present. Also, present Auditor, Judy Henry, Jim Rowe, Rob Welch and Jared Herschberger.
Watson made a motion to approve the agenda for today and the minutes from the October 24, 2024, Board Meeting. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
Committee Report:
Watson attended Southern Iowa Trolly meeting.
Public Comments:
Jared Herschberger, Black Maple Wind, provided updates on activities in the area. Bedford Golf Club and Lenox Walking Trail had been awarded grants.
Secondary Road Report:
Rowe reported they are still doing brush cleanup.
NEW BUSINESS:
Deputy Wykoff reported he will conduct training for the Courthouse employees on November 7, 2024, for security purposes. The Courthouse will have to close for business at 2 p.m. that day.
Henry stated the Board needs to set a date for updating Flood Plain Management Ordinance #34. Watson made a motion to set a date of November 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. for the hearing. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
The Board signed an Employee Insurance Buyout form.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Board worked on items for the next meeting.
Claims were reviewed and approved.
Watson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Meeting adjourned.
