PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024. Supervisor Fitzgerald called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Watson, and Beggs all present. Also, present Auditor, Judy Henry, Justin Savage and Rob Welch. Beggs made a motion to approve the minutes from May 16, 2024, Regular Meeting and the agenda for today’s meeting. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
Public Comments:
Rob Welch, with JCG, noted that he had the privilege of handing out 4, $1000 scholarships to four seniors in Taylor County.
Committee Report:
Fitzgerald attended the Crossroads meeting.
Secondary Road Report:
Savage presented a utility permit for Windstream Iowa Communications, LLC for cable next to a new bridge at HWY J-35, east of intersection of 200th and Quail Ave. Beggs made a motion to accept the utility permit. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.

Old Business:
The Board continued discussion on dead tree removal in the Courtyard. Beggs motioned to accept the bid provided by Lincoln Lawn Care for tree removal. Watson seconded the motion.
Watson is going to order wrap for the air ducts in the Clerk of Courts Office. Hoping to avoid any condensation from the air conditioning this summer.
Tricia Wilmarth provided information about mounting an antenna on top on the Courthouse for use by the Fair Board. The Fair Board will pay all costs associated with the project.
Watson made a motion to go into recess at 10:59 a.m. to conduct the Budget Amendment Public Hearing. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
The Board returned from recess at 11:15 a.m.
The Board reviewed and approved claims to be paid.
The Board discussed topics of discussion for future meetings.
Beggs made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Watson seconded. MC 3-0.
