PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:15 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Watson, and Beggs present. Also present, Auditor Judy Henry and Jim Rowe.

Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the agenda for today and minutes from the prior meeting. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.

COMMITTEE REPORT:
Watson attended the R. C. & D., Hungry Canyons and Southern Iowa Trolly meetings.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
None

SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
Rowe stated they had their safety meeting and continued to work on projects in the County.

NEW BUSINESS:
Jackie Minor, Ewart Ins., reviewed the FY26 ICAP policy renewal. On a prior visit Minor relayed to Auditor Henry to expect a 10% increase in premium for the FY26 Budget. A Representative from ICAP will be reviewing some of the buildings around the County to check the condition for Replacement Cost. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the 2025/26 Anniversary Rating Supplement. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.

Deputy Auditor Lindsay Sonksen presented a list of Outstanding Warrants that needed to be voided. Watson made a motion to accept the list. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. MC 3-0

OLD BUSINESS:
Culp reported she requested quotes for replacing 2 furnaces on the East side of the Courthouse. Watson made a motion to accept Wallen Plumbing & Heating option number 3 for furnace replacement. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Work will begin on March 24th, 2025.

Watson made a motion to go into Closed Session per Iowa Code 21.5(i) to conduct an employee interview. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. AYES Watson, Fitzgerald and Beggs. NAY 0.
The Board entered closed session at 11:02 a.m. and returned from the closed session at 11:50 a.m..
The board approved claims to be paid and discussed items for the next meeting.
Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Meeting adjourned.
