PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday,
Januaiy 30, 2025. Supervisor Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m. The Pledge of
Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Kim Watson, Ron Fitzgerald, and Jack Beggs, all
present. Also present: Deputy Auditor Lindsay Sonksen, Rob Welch, Jim Rowe.
Watson motioned to approve the minutes from Januaiy 23, 2025, as well as approve the agenda
for the meeting. Fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0.
No Public Comments.
Fitzgerald attended a Crossroads meeting on 1/27/2025 and a Matura meeting on 1/28/2025.
Watson attended the Southern Iowa Trolley meeting on 1/23/2025.
Rowe presented updates regarding current Secondaiy Roads projects.
Jim Rowe left the meeting. Jackie Minor entered the meeting.
Minor presented details regarding the upcoming renewal of the policies for ICAP, Work Comp
and Principal. Minor also presented information regarding renewal for the Crime Bond which
covers Sheriff Deputies and Treasurers/Deputy Treasurers. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve
the Crime Bond renewal. Watson seconded. MC 3-0.
Jackie Minor left the meeting. C1ystal Drake entered the meeting.
Drake presented the 2025 Wellness Agreement to the board. Watson made a motion to approve
the 2025 Wellness Agreement. fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0
Rob Lundquist called in to the meeting with Linda Hogan and Lisa Tiepelman on behalf of
Lenox Neighborhood Center. Lundquist requested $15,000 in funding for FY26. Boai·d tabled
the request for a later date.
After a small discussion regarding when the final budget hearing date should be set, Watson
motioned to schedule the Final Budget Hearing Date for April 17, 2025, at 11 :00a.m. Fitzgerald
seconded. MC 3-0.
Shellia Culp updated the board with courthouse maintenance projects. Culp left the meeting.
The Board reviewed and approved claims to be paid.

The Board reviewed topics for discussion in future meetings. Fitzgerald motioned to adjourn the
meeting. Watson seconded. MC 3-0.
