PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024. Supervisor Fitzgerald called the meeting to order at 9:04 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Watson and Beggs present. Also, present Auditor, Judy Henry and Jim Rowe.
Watson made a motion to approve the agenda for today and the minutes from the December 5, 2024, Board Meeting. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
COMMITTEE REPORT:
Fitzgerald and Watson attended the Supervisors District Meeting and HF718 Informational meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
None
SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
Rowe updated the Board on active projects. Henry presented Resolution 2025-7 Secondary Road Transfer in the amount of $297,505.50 from Rural Services, $21,658.25 from General Basic Fund and $31,000 from LOST. Watson made a motion to approve Resolution 2025-7. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS:
No snow bids were turned in so the Auditor will run the advertisement again.
Crystal Drake shared with the Board that she and Belinda Ogle submitted an ICAP Grant for AED defibrillators. Drake stated between the ICAP Grant and a Preparedness Grant they were able to cover the full cost of new AEDs for the County. Drake also updated the Board on staffing in her office.
Auditor Henry presented DOLGENCORP, LLC liquor license application. The original application from last week had an incorrect business name on it. Beggs made a motion to approve the license request. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
Shellia Culp stated she will try to do the snow removal until someone is hired to handle the job.
Auditor Henry requested to have a Budget Amendment hearing on January 9th, 2025. Beggs motioned to approve the January 9, 2025, Budget Amendment hearing. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
Board approved claims to be paid and discuss items for the next meeting.
Watson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Meeting adjourned.
