PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Supervisor Fitzgerald called the meeting to order at 9:45 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Watson and Beggs present. Also, present Auditor, Judy Henry and Rob Welch.
Watson made a motion to approve the agenda for today and the minutes from August 20, 2024, Board Meeting. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
Public Comments:
None
Committee Report:
Watson attended Southern Iowa Trolly Meeting. Fitzgerald attended both Crossroads Meeting and Matura Meeting.
Secondary Road Report:
Beggs reported that 2 Bridge Project start dates were moved up, so the County won’t lose funding. Henry presented a Utility Permit for Farmers Mutual Telephone for 2045 Elk Avenue to bury fiber optic. Beggs made a motion to accept the Utility Permit from Farmers Mutual. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS:
Henry presented a Certificate of Adjustment for Litters W74’ Lot 27 and 28, New Market. The Lots have been conveyed to First Church of Christ of New Market, making them exempt. Watson made a motion to approve the Certificate of Adjustment for said Lots. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
Discussion on the Purchasing Policy, Fraud Reporting Policy and Protected Personally Identifiable Information policy were tabled until a later date.
OLD BUSINESS:
Shellia Culp reviewed Courthouse updates.
No Auditor update.
The Board worked on items for the next meeting.
Claims were reviewed and approved.
Watson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Meeting adjourned.
