PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Supervisor Fitzgerald called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald and Watson present, Beggs present by phone. Also, present Auditor, Judy Henry, Rob Welch and Jim Rowe.
Watson made a motion to approve the agenda for today and the minutes from August 8, 2024, Board meeting. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. MC 3-0.

Secondary Road Report:
Rowe presented a utility permit for Alliant Energy for new construction. Beggs made a motion to approve the permit. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Rowe discussed options for filling the Engineer position. Rowe commented Belinda Ogle previously emailed the Board a copy of an Adams County Resolution pertaining to handling the daily business in the Secondary Roads Département with no Certified Engineer. The Resolution would allow a Secondary Roads Employee to oversee the daily business. This Resolution would make it unnecessary to have an Interim Engineer sign off on daily business. The Board agreed our Secondary Roads could follow the same type of Resolution. A Resolution will be presented at the next Board of Supervisors meeting.

Shellia Culp gave Courthouse updates. Maryville Glass and Lock had stopped in to check the Security on the doors in the Courthouse.
Auditor Henry stated she was still figuring taxes, correcting and updating credits. Henry stated her office staff has been busy preparing for the State Auditors who were scheduled to arrive August 19, 2024.
The Board worked on items for the next meeting.
Claims were reviewed and approved.
Watson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Meeting adjourned.
