PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:05 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Watson, and Beggs present. Also present, Auditor Judy Henry, Jim Rowe and Rob Welch.
Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the agenda for today and minutes from the prior meeting. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
COMMITTEE REPORT:

PUBLIC COMMENT:
None
SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
No Utility permits. Rowe provided 3 quotes for a new lawn mower, Husky $11,999-5 year warranty, Country Clipper $13,000-5 year warranty and Cub Cadet $10,005 with limited warranty. Watson motioned to purchase a Husky Mower for $11,999. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Rowe presented 2 quotes for a new sprayer, C&R Supply for $26,588 and Sprayer Specialty for $39,000. Rowe stated they are waiting for one more quote. The Board tabled discussion on the purchase of a water truck. Rowe informed the Board they will start the process of closing a road in section 10 in Dallas Township.
Fitzgerald made a motion to go into recess to hold the FY26 Budget Public Hearing. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
Fitzgerald motioned to return to regular session. Watson seconded. MC 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS:
Watson made a motion to approve Resolution 2025-12, Taylor County FY26 Budget. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. AYES-3 NAYS-0. MC.
Watson made a motion to approve Resolution 2025-13, Iowa Department of Transportation Secondary Roads Budget for Taylor County. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. AYES-3 NAYS-0. MC.
Watson made a motion to approve Resolution 2025-14, Iowa Department of Transportation Secondary Roads Five Year Program for Taylor County. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. AYES-3 NAYS-0. MC.
Watson made a motion to approve Resolution 2025-15, FY26 Appropriations. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. AYES-3 NAYS-0. MC.
Watson made a motion to approve the amended Taylor County Ordinance #34 and to waive 2nd and 3rd readings. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
Culp stated there is some public interest in the old chairs that were replaced in the Grand Jury. Room. The Board was undecided on what they plan to do with them.
The Board approved claims to be paid and discussed items for the next meeting.
Watson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Meeting adjourned.
