PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:15 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Watson, and Beggs present. Also present, Auditor Judy Henry, Jim Rowe, Josh Good, Holly Cavin and Jess Weller.
Watson made a motion to approve the agenda for today and minutes from the April 3, 2025, meeting. Fitzgerald seconded the Motion. MC 3-0.
COMMITTEE REPORT:
None
Treasurer, Dana Davis, joined the meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Jess Weller questioned the assessment notifications she received in the mail. According to Weller’s figures her taxes will go up by $8,000. Assessor Cavin explained how the Assessments are figured, and Taylor County is required to bring all their assessments up to date or the State of Iowa will do it for us. Auditor Henry provided informational sheets explaining how to figure your taxes with credits and exemptions. Weller was reminded these are taxes payable FY26/27, these are not the figures for the upcoming tax year.
SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
Rowe presented the Final voucher payment for Project STP-S-C087(60)-55-87.
NEW BUSINESS:
Henry submitted Equipment Disposal Forms. Watson made a motion to approve the Disposal Forms. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
IT Specialist Josh Good relayed to the Board County’s are being required to start using multifactor authentication for security reasons. The County will have around 38 users not including the Sheriffs Office. Good provided a quote from CISCO DUO at $5,024 for managed services and $3,392 for unmanaged services. Top Nerd quote was $1,581 for unmanaged services, they did not have any support for the product. Watson made a motion to approve Cisco Duo with managed services for Taylor County authentication. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. MC 3-0.

OLD BUSINESS:
Culp stated reported on continued projects with the upkeep of the Courthouse. Wallen Plumbing and Heating did find a gas leak in one of the furnaces at the lower level, it will be repaired.
The board approved claims to be paid and discussed items for the next meeting.
Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Meeting adjourned.
