Taylor County is currently accepting applications for the position of County Engineer or Assistant to the Engineer who is seeking their P.E. license. Taylor County is located in Southern Iowa.
The county engineer plans, coordinates, assigns, and supervises all engineering work and construction work performed by the secondary roads department. The engineer also prepares and let contract documents for projects, prepares an annual budget, five-year construction plan, and manages office staff. The role requires good communications skills and the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with county personnel, contractors, vendors, and the general public.
Applicants must have an Iowa Professional Engineering License or be able to obtain the license within two (2) years. Possession of a Land Surveyor’s License would also be beneficial but is not required.
Salary range is $_85,000__________ up to $_145,000_______________ based on experience and qualifications. Salary will be prorated for an applicant seeking to obtain a PE license. Full job description and application may be found on Taylor County website (https://www.taylorcounty.iowa.gov)
